Sends and receives troops, and decides what your catapults are allowed to aim at. Every village starts with one.
- At level 1 catapults cannot be aimed at all - they hit whatever the game picks.
- At level 3 they can be pointed at the Warehouse or the Granary.
- At level 5 they can be pointed at what a village produces with: the resource fields and the production boosters.
- At level 10 almost everything else becomes a target. The exceptions are the Cranny, the Stonemason's Lodge and the Trapper, which can never be chosen.
- At level 20 one attack may name two different buildings, as long as it carries at least 20 catapults. The catapults are divided between the two targets, and so is the damage.
The level 20 mistake. Naming the same building in both slots does not hit it twice as hard. It splits the force and sends each half at the same target, which is strictly worse than naming it once and leaving the second slot empty. If you want one building flattened, name one building. This is an expensive habit during a Wonder of the World operation, where a wasted wave cannot be rebuilt in time.
Strategy. Two targets are for a village you mean to take apart rather than one building you need gone - a Warehouse and a Granary together, say, or a wall and what stands behind it.

A step pays that much of each of the four resources, plus the hero experience, and the hero's own level adds 2% a level above the first on top of both. A reward can be left unclaimed and taken whenever it suits: claiming it pays no health, but the experience it carries can push the hero up a level, and it is the level-up that restores full health.
