Culture points
How many culture points each new village needs at every server speed, where they come from, and when an account has to have them.
Updated 13 September 2026
Culture points decide how many villages an account can own, founded or conquered alike. Every building produces some each day, and the total needed climbs with each village.
When they have to be there
- Settling: when the settlers are sent and when they arrive.
- Conquering: at the moment of the battle - see Administrators: loyalty and conquering villages.
An account whose production dips between sending and arriving does not get the village.
How many each village needs
| Village | x1 | x2 | x3 | x5 | x10 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 2,000 | 800 | 500 | 300 | 200 |
| 3 | 8,000 | 3,900 | 2,600 | 1,600 | 800 |
| 4 | 20,000 | 10,000 | 6,700 | 4,000 | 2,000 |
| 5 | 39,000 | 19,400 | 12,900 | 7,800 | 3,900 |
| 6 | 65,000 | 32,400 | 21,600 | 13,000 | 6,500 |
| 8 | 141,000 | 70,300 | 46,900 | 28,100 | 14,100 |
| 10 | 251,000 | 125,300 | 83,500 | 50,100 | 25,100 |
| 15 | 692,000 | 346,100 | 230,700 | 138,400 | 69,200 |
| 20 | 1,397,000 | 698,600 | 465,700 | 279,400 | 139,700 |
| 30 | 3,695,000 | 1,847,600 | 1,231,700 | 739,000 | 369,500 |
Every account starts with some: 500 on x1, 250 on x2, 167 on x3, 100 on x5 and 50 on x10.
Where they come from
Buildings. Every level of every building produces culture points a day, and the higher levels produce far more than the lower ones. A Main Building at level 20 produces 77 a day on its own, and a fully developed resource village reaches about 1,000 a day. The building articles point out the buildings that stand out for culture, in total and for what they cost.
The totals so far, and the daily production, show in any administration building.
Celebrations in the Town Hall:
- A small celebration grants as many culture points as the village produces in a day.
- A great celebration (Town Hall 10) grants a day of the whole account's production, and helps in conquest while it runs - see Administrators: loyalty and conquering villages.
Higher Town Hall levels make celebrations shorter, and on faster worlds they are shorter still.
Both are capped by server speed:
| Speed | Small celebration | Great celebration |
|---|---|---|
| x1, x2 | 500 | 2,000 |
| x3, x5 | 250 | 1,000 |
| x10 | 125 | 500 |
A village in the grey area produces no culture points itself, but its theoretical production still counts toward a celebration.
Artworks. An Artwork from an adventure or the auction grants a day of the account's production on x1, up to 2,000, and a smaller share on faster worlds.
Helmets. The culture helmets add a fixed amount every day: the Helmet of the Gladiator, the Helmet of the Tribune and the Helmet of the Consul.
Using them well
A new village almost always pays for itself sooner than anything else the same resources buy. On an x2 world, a village of 1,350,000 resources with fields at 10 makes 16,800 an hour, so it earns its cost back in about 80 hours. Taking a Hero's Mansion from 15 to 20 for a third oasis takes about 25 days. So culture points, not resources, usually decide how fast an account grows.
A resource village's fields and core buildings come first. Once it produces about 250–350 culture points a day:
- Add the cheap buildings that bring culture as well as use: Rally Point, Marketplace, wall, Barracks, Academy, Smithy, Stable, Embassy, Town Hall and Trade Office.
- Start running small celebrations.
A full set of village buildings brings in close to 1,000 a day, with the fields on top. The biggest single producers are the Embassy and the Academy, at 153 a day each at level 20, then the Marketplace at 115.
